30 problems in 30 languages
On November 30, 2024 Science-Smart School of Sofia will hold the annual math competition "30 problems in 30 languages" in partnership with "OLIMPMATH" EOOD as a representative of the Union of Bulgarian Mathematicians. The competition starts right after Math tournament "Ivan Salabashev".
"30 problems in 30 languages" is open to students from 6th to 9th grade, devided into two groups:
- Grade 6 and 7
- Grade 8 and 9.
Participants compete in one round as a team of 3 to 6 students, organised in two grade groups. Teams should solve 30 multiple-choice problems within 150 minutes. Equipment, devices and/or literature are not alowed.
Each task is in a different language. Teams must choose only one of the five given answers. The answers and even the numbering alone can also carry information about the meaning of the task.
Team may choose to include participants of different ages. In this case the team compets in the category of its oldest participant.
5 points are earned for a correct answer; 1 point for incomplete.
Teams also has a table of participating languages, each written in their own language. It is necessary to determine which task number is in which language and how this language is called in Bulgarian. In this part of the form, 1 point is earned for each correct answer.
Please, find enclosed the "30 promblems in 30 languages" problems and solutions, provided by grades.
Answers:
- Results will be published on the tournament’s official website. Contestations are not accepted.
- Top participants will receive certificates on a ceremony provided by the organisator.
- The award ceremony includes all participants in "Ivan Salabashev" and "30 problems in 30 languages".
Competition Registration & Organisation
In order to enroll in the competition, kindly complete the following steps before November 27, 2024:
- fill in the web Registration form;
- send the signed Declaration to e-mail: info@izzi.academy;
- cover the registration fee: 10 lv.
The competition will take place on November 30, 2024, Saturday, from 1:00 to 3:30 p.m. at SMART Science high school (Sofia Tech Park). The duration of the competition is 150 minutes.
Participants should enter at 12:30 pm for determination by teams and grades.
